What is a JPG?

JPG (also written JPEG) is the format for sharing photographs.

What is a PNG?

PNG is a lossless format: every pixel is stored exactly, and saving a PNG again changes nothing.

Is it private?

Yes. The converter is a page, not an upload: your browser opens each file, converts it and saves the result to your device. No file is sent to creavio or to anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

Is the quality kept?

To JPG from WebP, AVIF or PNG: the JPG is saved at quality 92 out of 100 at the same pixel dimensions. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. A JPG or JFIF converted to JPG gives you the same bytes under a .jpg name: identical pixels, same size. To PNG: PNG is a lossless format: every pixel is stored exactly, with transparency kept.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 20 at a time. Download them one by one, or all together as a single zip.

Is there a file size limit?

Each image can be up to 50 MB. A larger file shows a message and is not added.

Which browsers does it work in?

Current versions of Chrome and Safari. It uses only features built into the browser, so there is nothing to install.
