How to use the tool
- Add a photo: drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC or JFIF, or choose one from your device.
- Pick a size. Drag and zoom the crop box until the part you want sits inside it.
- Download a JPG (the default) or a PNG, drawn at the exact width and height you picked. Nothing is uploaded.
What the size means
LinkedIn's page "Add or change the cover image on your profile", read 24 October 2026, recommends 1584 by 396 pixels, a JPG or PNG file, lesser than 8MB. That works out to 4:1.
A Company Page has its own size. "Image specifications for your LinkedIn Pages and Career Pages" lists the cover image at 1512 by 256 pixels as both the minimum and the recommended size, with a maximum size of 3MB. That works out to about 5.91:1. Many guides still give 4200 x 700 or 1128 x 191; neither is on LinkedIn's page.
For a Company Page, LinkedIn advises keeping key details in the center, away from the edges. It publishes no pixel safe area for either banner, so this page draws none.
Questions
Is it private?
Yes. The crop runs in your browser. No file is sent to creavio or anyone else, and nothing is stored after you close the tab. The HEIC decoder downloads once, the first time you add a HEIC photo.
Will the file be under the limit?
The default JPG is kept under 8 MB for the profile preset and under 3 MB for the Company Page preset, and the page shows the final size.
Which browsers does it work in?
Current versions of Chrome and Safari. It uses only features built into the browser, so there is nothing to install.
HEIC decoding uses heic-to and libheif, free software licensed under the GNU LGPL 3.0. They are included unmodified as a separate file, loaded only when you add a HEIC photo. The source code is at the links above.
