Client Messaging Inbox
Use the inbox to communicate with clients in one organized thread.
Client conversations are scattered across email, Instagram DMs, text messages, and comment threads. The creavio inbox gives you one place to communicate with clients through the platform, keeping every message connected to their profile.
How the Inbox Works
Go to Communication > Inbox. You see a list of conversations organized by client, with the most recent message at the top. Click any conversation to see the full thread.
The inbox is not a replacement for email. It is a messaging layer within creavio that clients access through the client portal.
Starting a Conversation
Two ways to message a client:
- From the inbox: Click + New Message, select a client, and type your message.
- From the client profile: Click the Message button on any client's profile.
The client receives an email notification that they have a new message, with a link to view it in the portal.
Client-Initiated Messages
Clients can message you directly from the portal. These messages appear in your inbox with a notification. You can reply from the inbox or from your phone via the mobile app.
What the Inbox Is Good For
- Quick follow-ups that do not need the formality of a full email
- Gallery feedback discussions — "Can you brighten image #34?"
- Session logistics — "Meeting point changed to the east entrance"
- Invoice questions — "Can I split this into two payments?"
Message Notifications
Configure inbox notifications in Settings > Notifications. Options:
- Email notification — get an email when a client sends a message
- Push notification — instant alert on your phone (if PWA is installed)
- In-app badge — a count badge on the Inbox nav item
Message History
Every message is logged in the client's activity timeline. Unlike email, inbox messages are guaranteed to be in your system — they cannot get lost in a spam folder or buried under newsletters.
Limitations
The inbox is not email. Clients must access the portal to read and reply to messages. If a client is not a portal user (they prefer email), stick with email communication. The inbox works best for clients who are already using the portal for galleries and invoices.
