Custom Fields
Add custom data fields to client profiles to track the information that matters to your business.
Every photography business tracks different details. A wedding photographer needs venue names and wedding party sizes. A newborn photographer needs due dates and sibling names. creavio's custom fields let you add whatever data points you need to client profiles.
Creating a Custom Field
Go to CRM → Settings → Custom Fields and click Add Field. Choose the field type:
- Text — short free-form text (venue name, pet breed, referral source)
- Long text — multi-line text for notes or special requests
- Number — numeric values (guest count, number of outfit changes)
- Date — date picker (due date, anniversary, wedding date)
- Dropdown — predefined options (session type, how they found you, package tier)
- Checkbox — yes/no toggle (model release signed, travel required)
- URL — website links (Pinterest board, venue website, Instagram profile)
Where Custom Fields Appear
Custom fields show up in several places:
- Client profile — visible on the client's detail page in your CRM
- Client list — optionally shown as columns in your client table
- Questionnaires — map questionnaire answers to custom fields automatically
- Email templates — use custom field values as merge tags in emails
Organizing Fields
Group related fields into sections. Create a "Wedding Details" section with fields for venue, date, guest count, and coordinator name. Create a "Business" section with referral source, package, and contract status. Sections keep the client profile tidy as you add more fields.
Filtering and Sorting
Custom fields are searchable and filterable. Want to see all clients with a wedding date in June? Filter your client list by the wedding date custom field. Want to know which referral source brings the most business? Sort by that field and count the results.
Importing Data
If you're migrating from another CRM, creavio's CSV import lets you map columns to custom fields. Create your custom fields first, then import — creavio matches column headers to field names automatically.
Custom fields are available on all plans. The number of fields varies by plan tier.
