Browser Compatibility Guide

Supported browsers, how to clear cache, known issues, and mobile browser compatibility for creavio.

creavio runs in your web browser. No app to install, no software to update. But not all browsers are created equal. Here is what works, what does not, and how to fix common browser-related issues.

Supported Browsers

creavio is tested and supported on:

  • Google Chrome: Version 90+ (recommended). Best performance and compatibility.
  • Safari: Version 15+ (macOS and iOS). Full support.
  • Firefox: Version 90+. Full support.
  • Microsoft Edge: Version 90+ (Chromium-based). Full support.

We recommend using the latest version of any supported browser for the best experience.

Not Supported

  • Internet Explorer: Not supported. IE was retired by Microsoft in 2022.
  • Safari below version 15: Older Safari versions lack modern JavaScript features creavio requires.
  • In-app browsers: The browsers built into Instagram, Facebook, and other social apps are limited. If a client opens a gallery link from Instagram, it opens in Instagram's in-app browser, which occasionally has rendering issues. They should tap "Open in Safari/Chrome" for the best experience.

Clearing Your Browser Cache

If creavio is not loading correctly, behaving unexpectedly, or showing outdated content, clearing the cache often fixes it.

Chrome:

  1. Press Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows)
  2. Select "Cached images and files"
  3. Time range: "Last hour" or "All time"
  4. Click "Clear data"
  5. Refresh creavio

Safari:

  1. Go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy
  2. Click "Manage Website Data"
  3. Search for "creav" and remove it
  4. Or: Develop menu > Empty Caches (enable Develop menu in Preferences > Advanced)

Firefox:

  1. Press Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows)
  2. Select "Cache" and "Cookies"
  3. Click "Clear Now"

Quick fix for any browser: Hard refresh with Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows). This bypasses the cache for the current page without clearing everything.

Mobile Browsers

creavio works on mobile browsers. Your clients view galleries and pay invoices on their phones. Here is what to know:

  • Safari on iPhone: Full support. This is how most clients view galleries on iOS.
  • Chrome on Android: Full support. Best experience on Android devices.
  • Samsung Internet: Supported. Occasional minor rendering differences.

For the best mobile experience as a photographer managing your account, use Chrome or Safari on your phone. The PWA (installable web app) provides an app-like experience. Look for the "Add to Home Screen" prompt when you visit creavio on your phone.

Known Browser Issues

Safari: Video autoplay restrictions. Safari blocks autoplay of videos with sound by default. If you have background video on your website, it will play muted on Safari. This is a Safari policy, not a creavio limitation.

Firefox: Drag and drop in media library. Drag-and-drop image reordering may feel less responsive in Firefox compared to Chrome. Functionality is the same, just slightly slower visual feedback.

All browsers: Large file uploads. Uploading files over 500MB may time out on slower connections. If uploads fail, try a smaller batch or use a wired connection instead of wifi.

Extensions and Conflicts

Browser extensions can interfere with creavio. Known conflicts:

  • Ad blockers: May block analytics tracking or interfere with Stripe payment forms. If a client cannot pay an invoice, ask them to try an incognito window (which disables extensions).
  • Dark mode extensions: Can override creavio's styling and make some elements unreadable. Disable for creav.io.
  • Password managers: Occasionally auto-fill form fields incorrectly. If a form is behaving strangely, try disabling auto-fill for that page.

If something is not working right, test in an incognito/private window first. If it works in incognito, a browser extension is the cause.

Minimum Requirements

  • Screen resolution: 320px minimum width (mobile). 1024px+ recommended for dashboard use.
  • JavaScript: Must be enabled (it is by default in all modern browsers).
  • Cookies: Must be enabled for login to work.
  • Internet connection: Broadband recommended. creavio works on cellular but media-heavy pages load slower.

Reporting Browser Issues

If you encounter a bug that seems browser-specific, include these details when contacting support:

  • Browser name and version (find in browser settings or "About" page)
  • Operating system (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android)
  • Screenshot of the issue
  • Steps to reproduce
  • Whether the issue happens in incognito mode
